Apparently there is no such thing as a gentleman any more. This is what I am lead to believe. If a man acts in a courteous or polite manner towards a woman, his true motives are far from chivalrous; he should be mistrusted. This is what I am encouraged to think.
This irks me to a terrible degree. Once, I even shook with rage.
I was brought up to be polite and courteous, to be chivalrous and respectful to anyone I meet. I find it insulting, and disappointing, when my motives are questioned and I am eyed with suspicion for attempting good manners.
Not only are my intentions being questioned, but gentlemanly behaviour is now something out of myth. This means that those brought up to be polite being scorned; furthermore, no one values a refined character because it is now viewed as fictitious.
In other news, I tried the Dragon Age character creator. It's okay, I guess, but not very exciting. I doubt Dragon Age: Origins will be as good as The Witcher, or even Mass Effect. It'll just be Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights with added sex and violence.
