Recently I haven't really been doing anything. I've not been drawing, reading, walking, running, writing, gaming, or even cooking anything special. It's like I've woken up inside some sort of hypnagogia prison.
I'm sure the weather has had something to do with it; it's not like I'm planning on any countryside walks while the ground is wet and the winds are chill. Since the roads were salted and gritted for the snow, my bike has become absolutely filthy. It's not so easy to clean it now that I live four floors from street level.
I'm still attending the re-enactment meetings, and the most recent one was last Sunday. We did a lot more training, formed different sorts of shield walls, and I got into a knife fight with one of the group's "murderers". Yes, it seems that Saxons and Vikings who fought with seaxes (knives) rather than axes or swords were not warriors or soldiers; instead they were considered to be murderers. I think someone said that the same goes for archers.
Coming back to work has been quite depressing. Now I'm just waiting to hear about those job vacancies so I can get out of here.
