It has become something of a tradition that every summer Adam, Nick, Richard, and I go down to Rock-a-Nore and jump into the sea from one of the tall wave breakers there.
And this year has been no exception.
To think I almost missed it because I wanted a lie in. We met up early in the morning at Sainsbury's for breakfast (and what a mighty fine breakfast it was), and then went to town so I could buy some swimming shorts. I picked out a medium sized pair and off we went. Shoulda checked the waist size because I needed to wear a belt to keep them from falling down even when I was just standing around! Madness!
Anyway it was great. Someone suggested "five jumps each?" but why cut the fun short there? Sure it's tiring but it's so much bloody fun. There are two tunnel-like gaps in the breaker with horizontal metal bars half way up it so we climb out that way after every jump. The water wasn't as cold as I thought it might be - in fact it was clear, warm, and calm. I did my fair share of flips but I still don't have the guts to try a backflip. Shame because I'm sure I could do it if I could just get past the mental block that's holding me back.

Hey, great blog you have here! Keep on with the dungeoneering and have fun! Greetings from Croatia!:)
p.s. I accidentally found you when I was google-ing the picture of a Troll:)
Thanks for the comment. Not many travellers make it to Windy Cross ;)
You must have found the "Troll Unguent" picture I drew. That was unexpected!
Yes, I found that picture:) It reminded me of Guild Wars (I don't know if you ever played that game, it has a certain skill called Troll Unguent in it) so I went to see what it was. But for some reason I couldn't see the pic:(
Anyway... :P
Is that your D&D Campaign you have on your blog or...?
Well the image is supposed to be sort-of making fun of Troll Unguent from Guild Wars.
The image is at http://blakkmatt.googlepages.com/trollunguent.jpg
Yes I am posting parts of my D&D campaign on my blog. At some point I'd like to type the whole thing up and put it on here but I often get distracted with other things and it is a long process.
Hehe, it's a great picture! :)
I never knew that "Troll Unguent" is a liquid. I thought it was some kind of skill that rangers picked up from Trolls:)
But I don't know what Unguent means, so.. lol.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm in a process of creating d&d maps for my new adventure but I keep finding excuses for not doing it, like: "Oh, today is so hot, I don't think ill be able to concentrate on doing anything today" or some great movie starts just as I take the pencil in my hand, and stuff like that:)
I opened "the Watchtower" part of your campaign, it sounds intreguing (sorry if it's bad spelling :P) When I find time I'll look at the rest of it:)
Cheers!
As far as I know, an unguent is like an oil or cream that you rub onto something - like a wound for example. I would guess it's called *Troll* Unguent because Trolls have a natural ability to regenerate (hence, even Warrior Trolls in Guild Wars get Troll Unguent) and it's a healing skill.
Yeah it's so easy to be distracted from writing up adventures. You put it quite well. Also I've got to work on the forthcoming adventures in rough so I can play them before I can write them up neat for the website.
