Onward

On my most recent driving lesson, my instructor didn't touch the wheel once. I was in the driving seat the whole time and took the car out to Little Common and back. He's more confident in my than I am, and it all went smoothly apart from one or two hiccups. I think I just lack finesse. I am not looking forwards to paralell parking.

In other news, yesterday was my first day back at The Vikings after missing two meetings. As a result, my back and arms ache this morning as though I've been taking the place of a shire horse in front of a plough all week.

The event at Corfe Castle is not far away now. It takes place during the bank holiday weekend in May. I'm excited, but also a tiny bit nervous. Apparently there is no train to Corfe, and I doubt there is any room in anyone else's transport to get there. The train does go to a nearby town, and from there one can order a fairly expensive taxi.

Other members of the group keep suggesting making additions or changes to my kit, but how I'm supposed to do that between then and now might be a little difficult. I suppose I'll skip combat training during the next Viking meet-up, and focus on making sure my gear will pass a kit inspection instead.
