Simplistic

Sometimes I think I would prefer it if life was a little more simple.

Although my hot water is back, the cold water has now stopped. Apparently there is a leak somewhere and it cannot be fixed until tomorrow. I tried to have a shower this morning but was scalded so much by the hot water that I will have to remain smelly for work tomorrow.

I found out that my bike licence does count as a provisional license for learning to drive a car. That's very good news as provisional licenses are fairly expensive. I'm still not sure when to start lessons, though. I want to get them underway as quickly as possible, but they're costly and my bike desperately needs its next service. That service is going to include a new chain and sprocket which is something like eighty quid on its own.

I also found a huge mould colony behind my wardrobe yesterday. If I could keep my flat warm, there wouldn't be so much condensation; but the radiators don't work and I can't afford to leave a dozen halogen heaters on all day while I'm at work.

The new financial year's council tax bill came through as well. If ever I didn't need another money sink, it was now.

In other news, my application for the new job is going pretty well. I'm just waiting for documents to be signed and sent off by other people and such. The sooner I can get a better wage packet the better, but hopefully my bike's problems will all be fixed by then.
