I got my bike back on the road yesterday, and does it ever feel good to be riding again.
It took all the nerve I had to ride my Versys the otherwise-inconsequential three miles to the garage. Every corner, every moment of acceleration, every hard stop, was a moment when I felt the bike would slip out from under me. When I got the bike back, the mechanics said that they could not find the cause of a puncture, but did what they could to maintain the integrity of the tyre and pump it back up.
The bike is due for a service very soon, and it's going to need a new chain and sprocket when that comes around as well as an oil change and goodness knows what else. I also received this year's council tax bill in the post yesterday along with a letter assuming renewal of my RAC membership. That's going to make this an expensive month. I could do with the improved wages of that new job right about now.
