Well Gun's ending was a little disappointing. The whole "end boss" thing was really good but it sort of anti climaxed when the ending was just a friendly pat on the back for a reward rather than a) tragedy b) transformation c) riding into the sunset.
So I've been playing Call of Juarez. Well, I've been trying to play it. My computer keeps crashing or blue screening. It was even doing it while I was browsing Newgrounds! The PC desperately needs a formatting but I don't want to do it before I have to go back to work (this week is half-term).
The good news is that my armour arrived this morning (uh, yesterday morning... it's late). My brother Sam bought a £400 digital camera so maybe I'll have him take photos so I can post 'em here.
Dungeons and Dragons went well enough but I think the players felt a little stifled as to what they could do. I wanted to give them a big climactic finish in which they could try and get any information they could out of the "end boss" before fighting. The players seemed to want to just run in and stab him until he stopped moving (heedless of the hostage situation) and I think I suffocated them by bringing in the deus ex machina when I could have just left it out.
Any road they're off to much more interesting climes next session. The opportunities for adventure will be better and their destinies less forgiving. My college buddy Matt and I have been talking about him sitting in on a D&D session as he wants to see how it works. I'll also be recording the sessions on tape soon. I have a feeling I will need more tapes. I've been frantically writing new D&D material for my campaign in the past four or five days. Must be all this spare time half-term holidays throw at me.
