Kathisophobia

The thing that I think I dislike the most about my job is all the sitting around I do. Okay, so when I was working at Woolworths, Argos, or that little postcard shop in the Old Town my feet were killing me from standing up all day. But sitting down all day just gives me the mental image of becoming a lardarse who gets out of breath just by standing up.

Sure, that mental image is a little over exaggerated but I read recently that sitting down all day slows, and eventually stops, the portion of your metabolism that breaks down energy efficiently. I'd just like to be able to get up and do something half way through the day. I'd sneak out and jog up the country lanes around here if I thought I could do it without smelling all sweaty after lunch. You know, when I have time off I try to get everything done that I wanted to do at work and forget about how imprisoned I feel at work. If I could only find some way to motivate myself when I do have time off, I could get a lot more physical exercise done.

So when I say I must go jogging this evening after work I have to mean it! Last time I told myself that it worked, so I'm hoping I can do it this evening as well. The problem I usually have is that I'm so hungry after work that I don't feel I have the energy to start running around.

Saturday will be relatively busy. I've ordered some flowers to be delivered to my mum's place for Mothers Day but they will be arriving tomorrow rather than Sunday and I'd like to check and see if they get there all right. Richard said that there is some big deal with buying a new Kawasaki Versys - something along the lines of loads of free gear/upgrades like a touring windscreen, panniers, frames, a top box, etc. and that I may have missed out on some/all of that deal. So I'm heading over to Gedge to see what they know (after doing a little research of my own of course). My CG125 desperately needs cleaning! Rust is building up on the forks, wheels, and around some of the nuts and bolts so I have to go over all that and get the crap off it that builds up riding the A21 every day to work. There was something else that I needed to do but it has escaped me so far. My computer should be getting picked up today so I might hear from Crystech on Monday.

Other than that Sunday has got my first day on the road with Trevor for my bike lessons in the morning, and Dungeons and Dragons in the afternoon. I guess when I've finished jogging tonight I'll have to start swotting for my next theory test and writing up the vital statistics for D&D.
