I've started thinking about making a Gorkamorka blog in which to detail the escapades of my mob during our campaign. Yesterday we had some trial runs followed by some proper campaign matches. The outcomes were both funny and gut-wrenchingly tense.
Nick's Supa Grippo Tyres Garage mob took on Bob's band-inspired lunatics. The match was a simple We Woz Ere Furst scenario (orks believe that everything they see belongs to them, so naturally another mob in the area is trespassing on their territory and must be driven off). Nick's trukk got badly beaten up by Bob's 'eavy shoota and some nasty ramming, but the game ended abruptly when Bob's driver was unable to control the overheated engine from dragging the buggy off the table edge. The game ended as a draw as both mobs had the same amount of scrap and neither bottled out.
Next up was my Blackfist Bad Boyz against the unnamed mob under Carly's command (Bob's girlfriend). It began well as my lower mob rating allowed me to pick the scenario. I chose the Lootas match as it allowed me to field my entire mob while a small portion of Carly's awaited reinforcements. My plan was to rush onto the battlefield, grab as much scrap as possible, maybe plug a few stragglers on the way, and then speed away to Mektown before any the other Morkers arrived. Of course, very few ork fights go according to plan. First my harpoon gun got damaged thanks to the rattling of Carly's 'eavy shoota. However, I managed to outmanoeuvre her trukk and by chance blew it up. However, it wasn't long before a very chaotic hand-to-hand struggle began and at some point my mob's leader was taken down (curses) and out of action. The rest of my mob bottled out, taking what scrap they could carry with them, losing the fight! It was all going so well.
When it came to rolling on the serious injuries chart it would appear that Da Blackfist Bad Boyz will be holding a grudge against Carly's Morkers for a while since they managed to capture Krokfang (the mob's nob)! So at some point (i.e. as soon as possible) I'm going to have to launch a cunnin' rescue operation to get da boss back on my roster!
It was good fun though. With Gorkamorka you have to laugh at the hard times as much as you chuckle with the good times. The game is all about the brutal craziness of racing ramshackle ork buggies across the treacherous deserts while fielding warriors who think that the louder you shout, the shootier your gun gets; and that painting vehicles red makes them go fasta!
