Wort, wort, wort!

I didn't expect Sam to get me anything big for my birthday if he got me anything at all (I generally ask people not to bother). However I was infinitely grateful when he presented me with this.

I'll add photos here if the opportunity arises. It's really cool. A covenant plasma rifle. Awesome. Twenty-two and I'm still a big kid.

Mum took Sam and I (Marcos was indesposed or didn't want to come) to a pub in Sedlescombe for a meal. The portions were heavy, there was no way any of us could clean our plates; but it was nice to have a meal out with my closest of kin so I enjoyed it.

I've got a good photo of the trakk I converted for Gorkamorka. The front end is from an ork warbike (including the rider), the big grabber (which is kind of small compared to the old white metal Gorkamorka big grabber) is made from a pivot mount from the trakk sprue (intended for a twin linked shoota), a fork from the warbike sprue, and a power claw from the ork mob boxed set. The driver is holding a six shoota which was cut off a metal gretchin, and I used the nob arm from the ork mob box so he'd be holding the gun out as he rides/drives the trakk not looking where he's going (naturally). I haven't modelled an "on foot" version of the trakk driver but hopefully he won't be dethroned until I can find another begoggled ork head.

I've also uploaded some photos of my mob. The painting isn't completely finished on some of the models. I could have spent more time with detail and drybrushing and what have you but these aren't showcase models and since no one else in the campaign has painted any of their models (that I know of) I don't see the need to compete or anything. Here is an image of the mob as it started (all aboard Da Rukk Trukk), and I also took a photo to show the detail of the harpoon gun (converted from a Warhammer goblin spear chukka). I'm going to have to get the harpoon gun kustomised to have more dakka at some point. I'm not sure what I'll do to represent that on the model... probably just add loads of spears onto the ballista.

Anyway, there's Gorkamorka this afternoon! I'm off to Bexhill to battle da noocomerz and (hopefully) rescue my mob's nob from captivity. I'll post the outcome of the battles later on (along with the newsletter I hope).
